West was trying to demolish great Ottoman Empire since a long. British got help from two tribes of muslims from hijaz to divide the great ottoman empire eventually khilafat.

Al sauds belong to najd area of hijaz.these tribes were trying to get control of
hijaz since a long time. In 1790 they were successful in taking control of Makkah, Madina and Taif. In 1801 A.D Al saud attacked Najaf and Karbala in Iraq. About 15000 were martyred in karbala and from 5000 to 15000 were martyred in Najaf by Al Saud. In these attacks Al saud stole many precious items and to murder visitors of holy shrine become their normal routine. they also banned Muslims of ottoman empire from hajj Sultan mehmud sent Ibrahim Pasha in 1818 A.D who attacked Najd and destroyed the Wahabi capital Darayya. Al saud leader was arrested.
In 1880 A.D Al saud regained power with help of British Empire. Sharif Hussain's Family was resident of mecca. British started funding and supporting them. in 1918 with help of Al saud and Sharif Hussain, british succeeded in abolishing khilafah. Al sauds were selected to rule on hijaz by British. Sharif Hussain announced himself as the king of all arab states where as british worked hard for ending khilafah and dividing it into small country. Because of this act, british lost their faith in Sharif Hussain.
Apart from this, Al Saud were followers of the school of thought that considered rest of the muslims as 'Kafir'. therefore to divide ummah was much easier with help of Al sauds. in Begining Al saud considered both sunni and shia as non-believers.
Instead of asking for all Arab countries, Al saud only asked for Hijaz. Sharif Hussain was sent to cyprus in exile and was banned from entering hijaz. He had four sons who assured lawrence of Arabia of their loyality. Eventually Hijaz was given to Al Saud and sons of Sharif Hussain were given rest of Arab states like Iraq, Syria and Jordan. Abdul Aziz al saud changed the name of hijaz to saudi arabia(saudi based on their tribe name and arabia to arab origin). king of jordan is sharif hussain's descandant whereas in iraq and syria, they lost their rule so early.
Now no wonder why abdul aziz signed mandate of palestine.

Imam Bukhari (RU) has quoted this Hadith from Abdullah Ibn Umar (RU) that Prophet (SAWS) once prayed for Syria and Yemen. It is narrated that there were some people of Najd (recent saudia) also present in the gathering and they requested the Prophet (SAWS) to make supplication (du'a) for Najd also. Prophet (SAWS) continued saying: ‘O! Allah, Shower Blessings on Syria and Yemen’. The people of Najd again requested the Prophet (SAWS) to offer prayers for Najd. The Prophet (SAWS) said: ‘It is a place of tremor and mischief (Fitna) and the Horn of Shaitaan will rise from there.’
